I had been thinking about making this post for a while now and with the news in the head lines today about Adobe stopping support for Flash on mobile devices, I think that its all the more relevant I make this post.
"Steve Jobs wins! Flash being phased out from mobile devices"
These are the sort of dramatic headlines that we can see in the news at the moment, a told you so type of post.
OK I concede this is a bit of a turn around from Adobe but what has actually changed here? Does Flash still work on PCs and Macs? Does it still and continue to work on Android? For the moment the changes have not come and the arguments over who's right and wrong will continue for many more weeks and years until a credible alternative from the likes of HTML5 actually works. Don't get me wrong I am a HTML5 fan I use it daily and think this may well become an alternative one day. But for this reason I also understand it's issues, at least Flash works in all browsers the same cant be said for HTML5 at this time.
So is Flash dead? well not at the moment it's very much alive and kicking and is used in lots of creative sites across the world. Maybe tomorrow the links from below may one by one stop working and be replaced by mundane sites or credible HTML5 alternatives, but for now sit back and enjoy some of the Flash sites I like.
This is not a top ten list of Flash sites, they are in no particular order of preference.
Do you have any sites you like? I would be interested in seeing your favourite flash sites please post me some links below.
